trying to import galleries

Postby smutnut » Wed Jan 03, 2007 6:26 pm

I'm trying to import new galleries into partner account requester from the updated version (chameleon 4 I think) of chameleon submitter.

First it won't let me (i do already have 330 or so galleries in the requester as it is), or rather it's only letting me import the one latest gallery submitted without the .htm extension or file name, just the folder (subdirectory) that it's in.

Thanks

Which mdb file have you tried to import them from? You should import them from sites6.mdb, anyway. This one is used with the updated version 4.00.

Actually I tried from both. Orginally I was using 5 because I was using submitter before upgrading and noticed the six for the updated version so I used that first and then tried the five for the hell of it but that one just says nothing new to import

Thanks

yeah, I just tried it again after submitting a gallery today and got the same thing, just one gallery, the lastest one I just submitted and no html extension on it.

this just happened since my upgrade to submitter 4

And yes, I did import from database 6

I might try wiping out my old galleries but wondering if it will be all blank then and I get nothing

one more thing...

For the hell of it, i just ran through the test galleries thing on pa requester (not sure what this does but thought it might shed some light on things). Even though I can click on the base urls in the list and go to the gallery, the test results all came up with that 403 forbidden (of course I couldn't click on the url of the last one without the html extension because that took me straight to a 403 forbidden page)

Okay, don't know if this helps

Well at the moment I am not sure why that happens. We would need to check your sites6.mdb before giving you an answer. Please upload it on your server and send us a link to the file at support@chameleonsubmitter.com

Thanks, you can take it down now...
I'll get back to you on Monday, need to consult it with our programmer.

BTW, haven't you checked "Only this profile's domain" in Step 2? In such case it would only import galleries hosted on the domain of the e-mail used in the selected profile.

Just for a recent update.

Still not sure what I've been doing wrong, but I did a save all instead of a continue and save in partner account requester and for some reason imported the few galleries I've created since noticing the problem except the last one still had that problem of not getting the htm extension, but I did get in a few new galleries that were imported before that last gallery and werent there before the import

I might be doing something wrong in submitter instead of requester.

what is the difference between save all and save and continue in that step 2 of requester?

Thanks

Well, we didn't find any problem in your submitter's database, it has imported all of your galleries properly.
What's the gallery URL which has been imported without the htm extension? I will try to check it out in your History once again to make sure it's correct.

Use Save and Continue if you wish to continue to Step 3 and use Save All if you wish to close the requester in Step 2 without proceeding to Step 3 (e.g. when you only want to save your imported galleries and/or their order).

i deleted those to try and tighten up the galleries, didn't want to forget and leave something with a 404 link. I'll do another, but so far it's always the last gallery on the list (well, since I got those few in on that last import)

One thing I can tell you is that I've got about 100 more galleries in submitter than I do in requester.

Can I delete all galleries and reimport from sites6? (still have the old sites5 in my directory also).

Well, if you didn't make any changes to the imported galleries in the PA Requester you can try to import them once again... not sure if it's needed though.
A lot of your galleries are saved multiple times in History (they are saved everytime you hit the submit button - at the moment of your authorization on our server) but they are imported only once. So that's probably why you've got about 100 more galleries in the submitter.

If you keep getting the same problem please allow us to check your partner database (partner2.mdb) as well.
Just upload it on your server and send a link to the database at support@chameleonsubmitter.com (do not post it here!).

sorry, wasn't thinking of that. you're right, I do have multiple listings in history because sometimes I shut down and resubmit for manuals and stuff.

I'll post a link to a gallery when or if this happens again (the lack of extension I mean)

Can I delete the old databases #5 for submitter and #1 for requester (I think those are correct) if I want without it affecting anything the newer databases?

Thanks again

Ok, thanks. In such case your partner2.mdb would be also appreciated.

If you have CS4 and CPAR2 already installed you can delete sites5.mdb as well as partner1.mdb since they are no more used.
