Relative Links

Postby Mr Spock » Wed Mar 24, 2010 2:28 pm

I seem to have a problem with the relative link setting , I check the "adjust relative link" box and duplicate my pages , but none of the links are set up properly. According help files it should insert the base code from step 1 into the duplicated source code.

The links in my source code appears as follows ... <img src="../images/imgage1.jpg.

Is that right , none of my image links are working and I use a stylesheet for my freesites and that link doesn't work either. I find it strange that I have no problems with this in the gallery submitter , but I seem to be missing something here?

Please help?

To display the images properly you first need to upload them in the correct directory on your server.

Basically, when you check 'Adjust relative links in all duplicated pages' a BASE element containing the URL address set in the Base URL field in Step 1 is inserted in the source codes of all duplicated pages. This will ensure that the links which are linked relatively (e.g. links to images, links to other pages on the same domain, etc.) are displayed correctly in all duplicated pages.

So for example, if your Base URL is http://www.somedomain.com/folder1/folder2/ and your links appear as follows ... <img src="../images/imgage1.jpg then they are finally linked from http://www.somedomain.com/folder1/folder2/images/ - like e.g. http://www.somedomain.com/folder1/folde ... mgage1.jpg, etc.
