Question: Partner Account Requester

Postby andrewprime » Wed Apr 16, 2008 8:21 am

hi im a newbie in using the partner account requester.

as in this is my first time..

Are the recips generated from the partner account requester different from the ones in the submitter?

if they are different..
does it really need that the recips of the partner account requester are to be stored in a different directory?
because i already have a folder for the recips images from the submitter..

for example i've stored the submitters recips in this directory..
mydomain.com/html/galleries/recips/

i would like to save the images generated by the account requester to the directory recips of the submitter just to make things centralized.

or should i use a different directory for the account requester like these??
mydomain.com/html/galleries/par_recips/

can you give a suggestion?

It will be much appreciated.

thanks..

Hi,

I strongly recommend you to keep them separated in different directories.

Since the databases of both programs are separate and fully independent it may happen that you save some recip in the requester using the same name that already exists in the CS database for some other site (and vice versa).

Even though it shouldn't happen in the default databases, they are fully customizable so we couldn't guarantee this will not happen some day in the future.

ah.. ok..

by the way how can i import only the latest galleries that i have submitted??

because when i imported galleries for the first time, it added all the galleries that i have submitted way way long ago.

it seems to be that when i click import, all the galleries that was added previously, was added again, therefore having duplicates in the partner account gallery list.

thanks :D

When you click Import Galleries it automatically imports all missing galleries that are not included on the list yet. So it shouldn't import the same galleries again unless you have changed their URL's.

Anyway, all imported galleries are placed at the bottom of the list so you can easily identify them and if needed, remove them from the list at once. Just select their rows and choose Delete Galleries from the context menu (right-click to open the menu).

Ah now i see.

Sorry for my dumb questions. Just be patient with me for being a noob in this software.

I have my last question.

After sending the request and if ever i got to be approved as partner,

first i'll change the status of the site as approved.. right??

then i will export it to the submitter..

the question is how can i export only the recently approved accounts and how do i know if its a new partner account in the list??

cause from what i can see importing the partner accounts from the submitter gives me list of approved..

i've given this much thought to this, to prevent errors, hassles, also for doing more stupid things.. hehehe..

i've watched the tutorial and didn't seem to get it.. or i didn't saw it..

Again.. thanks ^__^ mr.support

If you don't want to export all accounts to the submitter, you can export the selected accounts only. But there is no problem with exporting of all accounts, unless you have different accounts in the requester that would overwrite accounts in the submitter (but this is bad practice to keep different accounts in the submitter as you can import them into appropriate profile in the requester).

Anyway, if you set "valid from" date while setting up login and password for your new partner account, then you can sort accounts by "Valid from" column in Step 3 and select only new accounts easily.

Hi again sir,

Is there a way in managing the accounts in the requester where i can hide or collapse the approved accounts that has been imported from the submitter??

Cause the list is so long and when i just wanna monitor only the submitted requests.. so that when i look for it it wouldn't be so long..

Also, is there a search form in step 3?? I kinda get dizzy when im looking for the url of the accounts  I think this would be a good feature if the requester doesn't have one. :) :)

Hi again ;)

The table doesn't support hiding or collapsing feature, however I recommend you to work a bit more with the table columns. For example, you can sort your recent requests by clicking on the table header 'Request Date'.
You can even sort them by multiple criteria (columns) at once, just use Ctrl+C when selecting another column header.

To search for any text in all columns use the Search function from the context menu (or Ctrl-F).

If you want to search for a site by text in some selected column only, click on the column where you want to search and press Ctrl+G. Enter any part of the text and select the direction of the search - upwards or downwards from the current row.

You can find more info as well as several tips & tricks in the Help files (Help menu > Help) so don't forget to check it out as well ;)

Joan

Oh ok.. i see

Cool... :D

thanks ms. joan

I think it should be pretty neat if you could put a function that could hide and unhide the approved accounts that has been imported from the submitter or those accounts that has been previously set the status to approved.. this should just leave the accounts that has request status ="Submitted" and "Error" or "Null" in the list view also this should minimize the listview space..

This feature should give your software become a more user friendly one..

Anyways, thats just my suggestion. :) toggling the column headers to sort things out is just fine ..

Thanks again... :)
