PA recip questions

Postby smutnut » Thu Nov 16, 2006 3:31 pm

Actually I have a couple questions here.

I just resigned up for the PA requester and I think I did everything right to keep my old accounts but noticed a couple things.

1) how do I make sure my recips are all there for the basic submitter once I'm a partner (because I noticed that in the options folder of PA requestor it says there could be conflicts if I don't have a seperate recips folder)?

2) When I was requesting accounts, I think the requestor had me requesting for some partner accounts I might already have. Is there a way to make certain I don't request an account twice (since I think I did it on some the last time I had requestor)?

3) On import export, you just import and export of that basic access database, (correct? Incorrect?) so that the basic submitter is synchronized with PA requestor?

4) I notice that some sites offer partner accounts that are in basic submitter but not in PA requestor? How do I go about requesting these accounts through PA requestor and keeping them in database?

I think that's all I have for now

Thanks

1) You do not have to worry about that. The submitter contains all recips for all sites, no matter if they only accept partners or not...
Anyway, to make sure they are all there, choose Check Missing Recips from the Database menu (in the submitter).

2) If you import all your partner accounts from the submitter's database before your first request those sites will be automatically excluded from generating.

3) When you export/import partner accounts, the accounts are synchronized for that moment. We recommend you to keep the accounts in the requester and export them to the submitter whenever it's needed.

4) Chameleon PA Requester has been primary created as an additional (but independent) tool to Chameleon Submitter - due to the increasing number of sites only accepting partners. So basically, the requester should contain all the same partner sites which are also available in Chameleon Submitter.
However, it may happen that a site available in the requester is missing in the submitter and vice versa - this is due to the fact that both softwares have a different "mission" and that's also why they have separate databases - separately updated. It's quite hard to tell you a general reason 'cause the reasons vary from site to site.
Anyway, whenever we update any of the databases we always try to synchronise them - as much as possible ;)

Thanks

One more quick thing. When I export some of these accounts, (and this happened last time I was using requester). I get a good number accounts that tell me I have an invalid password user name combo.

This is of course after I get approval and set the settings and export. This has to absolutely do with the TGP owner, correct? There's nothing I should know about submitter and certain types of tgps is there?

Also old accounts I've never received approvals for seem to be telling me I have accounts.

Wondering if this has something to do with that smtpout.secureserver too and if there's a way to deal with it. I think they block certain ip ranges when spammers are about. I'm about email webmasters but want to make sure I'm going to be able to confirm there emails and stuff too.

This isn't everybody, probably most are okay, but it's not just one or two either

Thanks again

Basically, it does export all the same accounts you have set in the PA requester under the selected profile (username & password set for site A in the requester is exported to the same site A in the submitter).
So if it keeps telling you that you have an invalid password user name combo there must exist some other reason. Either it has to do with the TGP owner or you have used a different webmaster info (such as name, email address etc...) in the submitter - different from the information entered for the selected profile in the requester.
Some of the partner accounts are identified by any combination of your login / password / email / nickname so you should not change any of the info.

Anyway, I really don't think this has something to do with your mail server.

Re "Also old accounts I've never received approvals for seem to be telling me I have accounts."
This may happen - you can get auto approved without a notification and sometimes even without applying. A tgp owner may simply like your galleries and approve you without any special effort from your part ;)
